Rest in Peace, Mrs. Doyle!

I was very sad to learn this morning that Mrs. Muriel Doyle passed away on July 25. She was a member of Parroquia San Cristóbal and a pillar of the church. She lived a long life, passing at the age of 97! She was an active member of the Altar Guild, and even though she could no longer help set-up for services she always participated in Altar Guild and ECW bake sales by managing the caja. She will be missed! Rest in peace, Mrs. Doyle!

Here is the obituary from Cybernewspanama: Muriel Louisa Maloney de Doyle, 97, passed away on July 25, 2013 in Panama.  She was a long-time resident of Parque Lefevre, and a devoted member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, where she formed part of the prayer group, the Altar Guild, and the Episcopal Church Women. Muriel was recently honored by the Episcopal Church on their 74th Anniversary with a plaque and a gift for her dedicated service.  She had worked in La Boca commissary, and was one of the first females hired during the Second World War.  Muriel will be remembered as friendly and a sincere person. Her favorite sports were boxing and baseball.  Muriel belonged to the Eureka Temple of the I.B.P.O.E of W Lodge, and she was also a member of the Damas Admirables Club.  A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 5 at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, located on 10th Street, Parque Lefevre.  Among survivors are her two sons Lionel Harris and Cirilo Doyle; her goddaughter Georgina Williams; 10 grandchildren: 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson, several nieces, nephews and lots of friends. Muriel was predeceased by her husband Cyril Doyle.

O God, who by the glorious resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ destroyed death, and brought life and immortality to light: Grant that your servant Muriel, being raised with him, may know the strength of his presence, and rejoice in his eternal glory; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

My grandmother was such a lady. Well dressed, well kept and well presented I think about her from time to time and it makes me smile. I am my mother's child but I look at myself from time to time as I get older and I can see her.

She lived a long life full of experiences, love, laughter, joy, happiness, sadness, peace and smiles. I hope to live a life as long and as full as my grandmother did. I miss u grandma! <3

I See You!
