Oh Padre, how lovely. This is one of the loveliest retellings of the Birth of Our Lord I have seen in a long time.

Thanks, David, for your gentle correction. I guess I was just judging by the positions of the parents of the Nino Jesu. The 'traditional' positions are for Maria to be to the left of the babe as you face the creche and Jose to be to the right of the babe as we face the creche. Maybe that is traditional only for North of the Equator?
Of course I should have known better when Señorita Egipcio Hipopótamo del Amor told Gallito to be quiet! Poor Jose gets to say nothing!

It was stunning, absolutely shockingly esplendido and packed with passionito (the tingly kind). The realismo magico, the lighting, the costumes, the make-up-and-over (I especially loved the tune/cover-up done on Apocalyptic Angel and PB Vacables)...ah, the Moose translations...perfectly executed! There are only certain *moments* of grand theatre that can be recaptured in the minds eye for ever and ever...but this cascade of brilliance represented a collage of rewound visual wonderment...Blessed are the Friday Night Red Mr. Peanut Bank and Gallito Mescalito Bloggers...dimly, I must admit/add what's what and what isn't what...for seconds (really, seconds only) I also mistook Gallito Mescalito for Helania playing the Virgin Mother...truly a sign of a great performance when all the players are interchangeable...sort of like a all-star cast and packed house at Finnochios in the olden days/daze.

This is the best Christmas pageant I've seen in a long time! Better than the living Nativity scenes, even! I especially enjoyed Miss Egyptian Hippo of Love's stunning performance, and thought El Toro made a particularly fine sheep. I know he had his worries about that part.
