Boy, the place was hoppin' today! We packed 102 "Love Baskets" to be distributed tomorrow. We set-up a kind of assembly-line thang to fill the bags. Starting on one end of the table, one placed: 1 can of carrots & peas; I can of tuna; 1 can of peach juice; I bottle of cooking oil; I bag of lentils; I bag of corn meal. Then one took the bag to the second table, in which one placed: I box of tea; I packet of mayonnaise; I bag of macaroni; a 2lb. bag of unrefined sugar; a half-dozen eggs. Each bag then received 2.5 lbs of rice; a bag of potatoes, onions, and apples. Tomorrow every bag will receive a 3lb chicken, a quart of milk, and a cake, everything a family needs for a great Christmas feast!
Since the rice came in two pound bags, Roxanne and Iris weighed and repackaged it into 2.5 lb bags. That slowed things down a bit!
Tomorrow morning at 9:00 am we will do some singing of Christmas carols, I'll say some prayers, and then we will distribute the packages.
Rice re-packaging
The choirs were practicing for the Cantata which they will perform on Sunday, December 28. They sounded very good!
Somehow, Monique's doll ended up on the lectern!
Monique was exhausted after playing with all those toys! She pretty much slept until mom was finished folding bulletins.
