Hoy en Parroquia San Cristóbal

I spent a good part of the morning finishing up the bulletin for the Christmas Day service. Then I went down to the patio to work with our volunteers.

Every Christmas la Parroquia Episcopal San Cristóbal distributes packages of food we call "Love Baskets." They contain all one needs for a Christmas dinner. Today we packaged the dry items: cooking oil, a package of elbow macaroni, two pound bag of rice, one pound bag of lentils, one pound bag of corn meal, one pound bag of coffee, two pound bag of unrefined sugar, a can of tuna, a can of peas and carrots, a can of fruit juice, a box of tea, and a jar of mayonnaise. Tomorrow we will add a half-dozen eggs, a whole chicken, butter, milk, and a Christmas cake. I helped pack seventy-five bags this morning, and the volunteers are finishing the other twenty-five right now. Tomorrow morning folks will come and we will have a few prayers, sing some Christmas carols, and then distribute packages to those present and then send volunteers out to deliver the rest. I'll take photos of that event, too.

Here are some photos:
