Everyday we went to the beach for about an hour and a half before lunch. Playa Santa Clara is on the Pacific Ocean and is very nice. In fact, it's starting to become a Resort town again. Back in the days of the Canal Zone it was a popular place for Zonians to vacation. Las Veraneras is a little place with cabins and a restaurant on one end of the beach, and Las Sirenas is on the other end. Some big houses are starting to show up in the neighborhood, too. The Baptists have a camp in Santa Clara, as do the Methodists. There is still a little fishing village next to Las Veraneras and we buy the fish for meals at camp from them. La playa is one of the best things about campamento!

Bee-YOO-tee-ful beach!
Padre, it's lovely. Maybe you could arrange for us to stay there, if Huckabee is elected to the White House, and some of us have to leave.
