Friday was Mother's Day here in Panamá. Mother's Day is a big deal here, it's more than Church and then off for Brunch and Mimosas. It's a national holiday, for goodness sakes, and everything is closed for the day. And while it's true that today is the Second Sunday of Advent, we of Parroquia San Cristóbal also celebrated Mother's Day in the Grand Style for which we are known. The Men's Fellowship honored the Mother of the Year, Mrs. Elfrida Beckford, with a plaque and many gifts, both choirs sang, and the youth recited poems for the mothers assembled. When the service was over, the Men's Fellowship hosted a Brunch (sin mimosas). A wonderful time was had by all!
