The iPad!

It's quilted! It's got wings! It's ultra ultra absorbent and you can still swim!!
It's the answer to everything.

¡¡UPDATE!!
And then there's this! AND this!

You know, the terrible thing is I'll probably buy one eventually. . .

...and you can go horseback riding with it! And you and your mother can have little heart to heart talks about it and about "becoming a woman."

I want to know what Miss Egyptian Hippo of Love has to say about all this.

Frankly, one of my bigger concerns is this... do I have to make an appointment at the Genius Bar if it doesn't work right?

That kind of scares me.

Wonder what happens if you drop it. Like when it slides off your lap onto the floor when you fall asleep and the dog or cat bats it. Or when it slams into the firewall of the car when the idiot ahead of you stops suddenly and it flies off the seat.

I'm watching the video of the launch and feeling a bit sad. In 1986, Steve Jobs came to the Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge MA to announce the NeXT machine, which was going to be way cool. He had longish hair cut expensively, and the black turtleneck and jeans - he exuded confidence (arrogance you could call it) and success. I'm struck now by how short of breath he sounds. Now, I've never been your classic early adopter, but I think I'll give it at least a couple more versions before I run out and get one.

Sounds promising, but I'm going to wait. There are always bugs to be worked out.

He had pancreatic cancer and had a transplant about a year ago.

My thoughts as well. I would love one now, but the iPhone and iTouch refresh annually, and each new one is better than the one before. Plus this one is missing a few obvious things, such as a video camera for video chat and a phone.

With the built-in mic & speaker you could probably do phone calls over the internet with a VOIP app from the Apps Store. It has an audio port for earbuds, but the tech specs do not say if it is the new trrs port that the new iPhone, iTouch, and the 21.5" & 27" iMacs all have that allow you to use the new Apple earbuds with the built-in mic for a bit more privacy during a call.

I think that it should read handwriting as well.

How do you think St. John Chrysostom feels about you making tampon jokes on his feast day?

Those are people who use PCs but don't realize how many if the "innovations" of MicroSoft over the past few decades ahve been from copying stuff Apple made first.

I See You!
