It's International Louie Louie Day
Today is International Louie Louie Day, and we're celebrating here at the Dance Party! Way back in August of 1983, Matty Boy and I, in our band The Wonders of Science, participated in Maximum Louie Louie at KFJC-FM. We played live on the radio and did a live Ska inspired medley of Louie Louie and all the songs which sound like Louie Louie. Uncle Kenny was with us as a roady, but ended up borrowing someone's trumpet and joined us in the jam. We had a great time, except for Matty Boy's VW van getting a big honkin' dent. I plan to spend part of the day getting the recording of that performance posted.
I also recorded three versions for the Maximum Louie Louie thang on the ol' four track and below you will find two of them.
In commemoration of International Louie Louie Day, KFJC-FM will be broadcasting a messa versions of the song from 7:00 PM (Pacific Daylight Savings Time) on and you can listen to the netcast by clicking here. There are rumours that one of my versions may appear.

Oh wow - does this bring back memories (came via Matty Boy's blog).
Are you playing the clean version or the other one? ;-}
Hopefully 'FBI approved', I trust - eh PM?
Excellente!

They mentioned you specifically on KFJC after playing the live TWoS version. They were hoping you were listening.
I was listening, Tara. They played an edited version, thank God, since the actual performance was seven minutes, a bit long for radio.
