Look! Indian Mangos! Wait, where'd they go?
The President of the United States of America, George W. Bush, has several nasty habits, but one I find quite annoying is his habit of signing laws and then producing a "signing statement" which basically states that he won't keep the law if he doesn't feel like it (a simplification but also the truth). He's been pushing the "Henry Hyde United States-India Peaceful Atomic Energy Cooperation Act" for a year and it's finally been passed by the congress. I'm against the act, and not just because the Boy King is for it, but because it sends the wrong message to nations who have signed the Non-proliferation treaty. So, in a moment of celebration, the Dim Son has changed his mind and decided the executive branch is not bound by the terms of the agreement. Why the hell did he sign it in the first place? Why should any nation believe anything the government of the U.S. says anymore? Why do the people of the U.S. put up with this? The President and Vice-President of the U.S.A. really don't give a damn about the credibility of the U.S. throughout the world, and the longer you let them continue this stuff the longer it will take to recover any credibility and good will from the rest of the planet. If I was the Government of India, I'd say "No Indian mangos for you Americans! Not now, not ever!!" That'd teach 'em!
