Yesterday was the first day of school here in Panamá, so Sunday Padre Cáceres gave a special blessing for all the returning students and teachers. We also had a birthday blessing.
After the 10:30 Misa we went across the street to Instituto Episcopal San Cristóbal patio to celebrate the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Father Ornaldo Surgeon and his wife Diana. The Choir sang two pieces, and Mr. Percy Thomas, Mr. Ricky Staple, the Lovely Mona and I were the accompanists. I gave the toast to the Happy Couple.
When the Lovely Mona and I drove up to the church at 6:30 am Sunday morning, police trucks and an ambulance were in front of the school. We parked and then I spoke with la directora's husband, who told us that the school had been robbed. The thieves managed to drug the guards, beat-up one guard (he's doing well now) and ransacked the office, stealing the safe (which had some cash in it), stealing the computers, and stealing all the security cameras! No body's happy about that.
Today Clericus was held at Iglesia San José en La Chorrera. It was the usual stuff; nothing exciting. However, I've always liked the crucifix and statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph and lil' Baby Jesus. They were carved by the priest who helped found the church, el Reverendo Manuel Val Macho. I also like the detail on the aumbry. The crosses for the Stations of the Cross all have little purple stoles! I've never seen that before.

Thank you, congratulations, hip-hip-horray and GOOD LUCK (school)!
Enjoy,
Leonardo
You know I always want to get on the plane and just get on down to Panama to worship, pray and play with you all.
I think that those Tropical clergy shirts were made just for you!
I'm so sorry to hear about the robbery! Glad that the guard is recovering. Is the church going to replace the computers and safe?
Megan
Sorry about the school but glad that it was not worse for the guard.
