Friday Red Mr. Peanut Bank And Gallito Mescalito Blogging

Red Mr. Peanut Bank Well, it's been quite a while since we've appeared on the Dance Party!
Gallito Mescalito ¡Shriek!

Red Mr. Peanut Bank Not much going on. . .
Gallito Mescalito ¡Shriek!

Red Mr. Peanut Bank humming: hmm, hmhm, hm hm hmhmhm, hmm hm hm hm hm hmhm hm hmhm. . .
Gallito Mescalito ¿Shriek?

Red Mr. Peanut Bank Oh, sorry! singing: Tall and tan and young and lovely, the girl from Ipanema goes walking. And when she passes, each one she passes goes. . .
Gallito Mescalito ¡Shriiieeeek!

Miss Egyptian Hippo of Love When she walks, she's like a samba that swings so cool and sways so gently, that when she passes, each one she passes goes. . .
Gallito Mescalito ¡Shriiieeeek!

Mr. Chompy's Chewed-up Squeaky Kitty Toy Ooh, But I watch her so sadly! How can I tell her I love her? Yes, I would give my heart gladly,

But each day, when she walks to the sea, she looks straight ahead, not at me!

Everybody Tall and tan and young and lovely, the girl from Ipanema goes walking, and when she passes he smiles

Red Mr. Peanut Bank But she doesn't see. . .

Miss Egyptian Hippo of Love She just doesn't see. . .

Mr. Chompy's Chewed-up Squeaky Kitty Toy She doesn't see. . .

Grumpy Gargoyle Now you know why they haven't been around for a while. . .

Gallito Mescalito ¡Shriek!

You can´t kid a kidder...you´re all rehearsing for recording international commercials for the Olympics! I saw the same ¨call¨ in Variety...lucky for you that my voice started cracking over a year ago but I still want a piece of the action...si, or no si?

Vinícius de Moraes, who wrote the Portuguese lyrics, later said about the "real" girl from Ipanema that she was '"the paradigm of the young Carioca: a golden teenage girl, a mixture of flower and mermaid, full of light and grace, the sight of whom is also sad, in that she carries with her, on her route to the sea, the feeling of youth that fades, of the beauty that is not ours alone — it is a gift of life in its beautiful and melancholic constant ebb and flow."
No wonder that, when she passes, we all go: "Aaaahhh"!

And all I can think of is feeling all nostalgic about 'The Girl from Ipanema' - the soundtrack to my teens, that was, always on the radio when I wanted to be listening to the Rolling Stones...
