¡Felicidades, President Obama!

I haven't checked yet, but I'm sure that heads are exploding amongst Certain People of the Birther/Tenther/Teabagger/Wingnut/Hater persuasion. But who cares what the Right Wing Blogosphere thinks? Not me! Hooray for President Obama!

According to early reports, it appears that Michael Steele of the RNC and the Taliban agree: they're agin' it! Big surprise! I think they share other beliefs.

UPDATE El Presidente dice: “I do not view it as a recognition of my own accomplishments, but a recognition of the role of American leadership” in the world, Obama said in remarks moments ago. “To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures” who won in the past, he added. “I will accept this award as a call to action, a call to all nations to confront the common challenges of the 21st Century.”

I agree that aneurysms are possible, and for the most part, deserved.

Just for winning an election against a guy who said it was okay for us to be in Iraq for another fifty years he deserves the prize.

WV: sansinne

From the French: Let he who is sansinne cast the first stone.

Right wing heads are exploding and the MSM is saying it's too soon to give President Obama a Nobel Peace Prize.

It´s never too soon to award/reward salute SANITY (in the face of bigotry, racism, greed, selfrighteous religious extremism, fear/hate/war mongering and general population ignorance being promoted by those who would exploit and abuse those whom they incite into taking vile actions against fellow human beings). The Republican Party has degenerated into a claptrap fellowship heap and a freeforall of insisting/demanding idiots!

CONGRATULATIONS PRESIDENT OBAMA

I like President Obama's reaction; Dignified, calm and sober. Hopefully a Sign for his presidency!

I like the guy and have great hopes for him, but I think the Nobel folks have been smoking dope or something. I see nothing in his young administration to merit anything close to this honor. As yet he has accomplished nothing, at home or in the world at large.

But I can think of no one at the moment who does deserve it. No one is bringing about peace, anywhere, that I can see. Perhaps some of the NGOs working endlessly between Israelis and Palestinians?

Do the rules say that they must give it to someone every time?

The often give it for non accomplishments...

I refer you to what Rachel Maddow said!

Please remember that J. "Edna" Hoover tried to
coerce the Nobel Commission into not giving it to
MLK.

And the infinitely satanic Henry Kissinger "won" it
for ending a war (Vietnam) which did not actually end until several years later

Sometimes, they give the award in hopes of
encouraging accomplishment or acknowledging one who is besieged by contemptibility while trying to pursue a path of righteousness.

In that spirit, they attempt to do their part to give
hope, by recognition, as a spiritual shield against
those who still require their knuckles in order
to walk upright.

Peace and happiness,

I See You!
