Nacimiento

I think I've mentioned before the importance of the nacimiento to the Panamanian celebration of Navidad. The neighborhood is full of them; they're in windows, they're on the front lawn, they're in the driveway; they're everywhere. Perhaps I'll take a walk around la barriada with the camera and get a few shots fer ya'll.

We always have a nacimiento at Parroquia San Cristóbal. It is designed and built by some creative, artistic folks at Instituto Episcopal San Cristóbal and some members of the parish. They started working on it last Thursday, but didn't really finish it until yesterday. As you may have noticed, we recycle some of the pieces from past sets, so there are a lot of Magi wandering loose in Bethlehem.

I'll get some more shots tomorrow night when the lights are on!

So, here are photos of the construction of the nacimiento and the final result.

Wow - I love all the detail. And the way the river comes out of the background and over the rocks. And the angel on the roof supervising everything.

I'd be terribly tempted to put El Penguino in the manger. But then there might be yellorin which is the WV.

I See You!
