Friday Red Mr. Peanut Bank and Gallito Mescalito Blogging

Padre Mickey Gee, I'm tired! This Panama Project really keeps me busy! But if I don't do a Red Mr. Peanut Bank thang I'll be getting emails all night. Hey, a couple of weeks ago Matty Boy accused me of using Oblique Strategies on a post; maybe I'll try it tonight!

A WORD FROM OUR PRODUCER: For those of you unfamiliar with Oblique Strategies cards, they were developed by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt. The card set describes Oblique Strategies as follows: These cards evolved from our separate observations of the principles underlying what we were doing. Sometimes they were recognized in retrospect (intellect catching up worth intuition). Sometimes they were identified as they were happening, sometimes they were formulated. They can be used as a pack (a set of possibilities being continuously reviewed in the mind) or by drawing a single card from the shuffled pack when a dilemma occurs in a working situation. In this case the card is trusted even if its appropriateness is quit unclear. They are not final, as new ideas will present themselves and others will become self-evident. WE NOW RETURN TO OUR REGULAR PROGRAMMING.

Padre Mickey Okay guys and gal, tonight we're going to use Oblique Strategies to help us figure out our plot.

¡El Penguino! Well, THIS should be interesting.

Red Mr. Peanut Bank So, how do these cards work, Padre?

Red Mr. Peanut Bank Well, since you and Matty Boy use to use these in the recording studio back in the 1980's, I'd say we ARE using an old idea! Draw another card.

The cards work differently for everybody, but if I got "Use an old idea" and "Water" and it had been raining that day, I would have had Miss Egyptian Hippo of Love ask "How gentle is the rain/That falls softly on the meadow?" which would have lead the gang into a rendition of A Lover's Concerto.

But that's just me.

I say, Matty Boy, you know how to work the cards! Do they ban you in casinos?

OT - Does anyone know anything about Leonardo Ricardo? He has not posted here or at Father Jake's all week as far as I can remember. Does anyone recall him mentioning a vacation or such?
