Friday Random Top Ten

Ya pushes "shuffle" and ya takes yer chances. . .

1. I'll Be Your Mirror The Velvet Underground
2. Art Crisis Bob Mould
3. Planet Telex Radiohead
4. Siúl a Rún The Chieftains with Sissel
5. Sometimes I Wonder Barbara Brown
6. Lost In The Stars Elvis Costello and the Brodsky String Quartet
7. Andy Warhol David Bowie
8. Reeperbahn Tom Waits
9. Laetabitur Iustus (5th Mode) Monastic Choir of the Abbey of St. Peter, Solemes
10. Black Mountain Side Led Zeppelin

Off to a great start with The Velvet Underground, and having David Bowie sing Andy Warhol makes the selection even more cool. Bob Mould was in Hüsker Dü and Sugar, and Art Crisis is a great song. I can't complain about a list with Radiohead, and Tom Waits, and Barbara Brown is way cool. The Chieftains and that girl and Elvis and that Quartet and them monks kinda slowed things down about (well, so did Tom Waits), and I realize that I have lost all credibility with Led Zeppelin showing up. In my defense, I only have their first album on the iTunes/iPod. Everything they did after that was downhill.

Please (¡DAVID!), post your top ten lists in the comments.

I love the new (old) dancers at the Dance Party.

¡Me! Padre?
I am loving the new Genius feature in iTunes. So I picked David Archuleta's (runner-up to last season's American Idol) new hit single Crush from his new self-named album, and let Genius pick the rest of the list from my music library.

Genius picks a minimum of 25 so here are the top ten;
Crush - David Archuleta
My Heart Will Go On - Céline Dion
Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler
Bridge over Troubled Water - Clay Aiken
I'm Alive - Céline Dion
I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston
I Will Survive (Single) - Gloria Gaynor
Surrender - Laura Pausini
Sooner or Later - Michael Tolcher
So Far Away - Rod Stewart

Pop divas, another Idol runner-up and an old football player! What does this say about my English music library?

Padre, did you get the new iTunes 8.02? It was released last night.

Thanks, Matty Boy, I like it, too!

No, I don't have the new iTunes 8.02 yet, although I'm sure the software update on the Macmini will take care of it by tomorrow. The version of iTunes I use for Friday Random Top Ten is 7.7.1 'cuz the eMac has OS 10.3.9. This is the computer I use at la oficina de la iglesia.

I haven't decided if I like the genius feature yet.

I don't like it. Wait till you update iTunes. It took forever to update Genius so I stopped it. And it doesn't make any sense to me anyhow.

It works fine for me.The first time that you activate it, it takes a little time to research your library and interface with the information about this collection of music with what is in the iTunes Master Library. So let that happen in the background while you do other things.

Also you need a good internet connection to accomplish this successfully. If the ISP at the rectoría is still finicky do not yet try this Padrecito.

I See You!
