Primado Barahona 'splains Things
++Martín Barahona, Bishop of the Diocese of El Salvador and Primado of IARCA (and one of my predecessors at San Cristóbal) 'splained things to Jim Naughton of The Lead at the Episcopal Café:
Meanwhile, I just ran into Bishop Martin Barahona, the primate of Central America in the café downstairs. I asked him his impressions of this afternoon’s hearings. “The Windsor Report,” he said. “It’s just a report. When did it become like The Bible. The Covenant. Why do we need another covenant? We have the Baptismal Covenant. We have the creeds. What else do we need?”
I love Martín (as does Caminante); he's always been the coolest!

God has blessed us with this Bishop. Too bad he is not the ++ABC!
Why do most of the really smart men simply reason/speak with common sense...no need to clutter up language (and my thinking) with the mangled reasoning of the Archbishop of Canterbury...his thinking/reasoning seems dangerous to OUR health!
Such a sombre photo of Obispo Martín. Wander over to Cristosal and nick the one off the page that has the listing of parishes.
Padre Mickey, why is no one covering Lambeth talk about the existence of the Global Centre? Many of the most sensible statements, like this one, come from there. Can you do something about this? I'm serious. And muchisimas gracias to Revmo. Barahona.
Oops, incoherent writing upon returning from long trip. I meant "why is no one [among the media] covering Lambeth talking about..."
rather sensible comment that.
With the ability to say things that make sense, how did he accidentally become a bishop???
"We have the Baptismal Covenant. We have the creeds. What else do we need?"
What? Can it possibly be that simple? I thought it was when I first came on board with TEC, but what do I know?
Dance!
You rock, Bishop B!
I added the good bishop's statement on the Windsor Report to my sidebar.
Bishop Martin Barahona is a mensch.
Maybe it's Lambeth that makes him look so sombre. Usually he is more smiley, at least on the pictures I've seen.
