Today we baptized D'Andre Green into the Family of God at la Misa a las 10:30am.
We've had several baptisms over the past few weeks as many folks have family visiting from the U.S. and want to have a baptism while the entire family is together. I have always been strict about only having baptisms on the correct Feast Days, but this year I decided that it is more important to baptize than to worry about whether it's the first Sunday of Epiphany or Pentecost and I think I've made the correct decision.
Here are some photos of this morning's baptism:

"D'Andre, yo bautizo en el Nombre del Padre...
...y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo. Amén"
D'Andre, quedas sellado por el Espíritu Santo en el Baustismo y marcado como propiedad de Cristo para siempre. Amén.
¡Felicidades a la Familia Green!

I think you made the right decision, Padre. Baptisms on feast days are cool, but when circumstances bring the family together at a certain time, that's an equally wonderful moment for a baptism.
Bienvenidos en la Familia de Cristo, D'Andre!
There are those pastoral decisions that override the canonical ones. I remember a baptism I did with only one week's notice of a woman's niece (the grandmother was minimally connected to the parish). We all knew how important it was to do it THEN because the 39 year-old aunt was dying of colon cancer. Two weeks after the baptism, she did die and at the post-funeral reception, the most prominent photo was the one of her holding her newly-baptised niece. So, you done good.
¡Bendiciónes y felicidades a la Familia Green!
St. Pat and Caminante have blessed your actions, Padre, so I guess you're OK with God.
