Friday Random Ten
1. I've Got Levitation (Live) The 13th Floor Elevators
2. Pretty Woman (From Kal Ho Naa Ho) Shankar Mahadevan/Ravi "Rags" Khote
3. Sunlight Of No Light The Gospel At Colonus
4. Beata Viscera (Perotin) The Hilliard Ensemble
5. Reptilia The Strokes
6. ¿Cuando Los Angeles Lloran? Maná
7. My Life Is In Your Hands Kirk Franklin and God's Property
8. When A Man's In Love The Chieftains
9. Cincinatti Fatback Roogalator
10. A Big Surprise Sparks
Once again, we're all over the place. That first number is really something. The Lovely Mona found me this obscure live recording of The 13th Floor Elevators which I really love. The jug player was still in the band, and he really made the sound. Roogalator is one of those obscure bands known to the likes of Matty Boy, the Madpriest, and myself. The Bollywood version of Pretty Woman is one of our favorites, and the movie Kal Ho Naa Ho has a great story of Sikhs and Christians in one family. Padre says, "Check it out!"

Kal Ho Naa Ho... I am intrigued.
And, induldge me if you will, Mi Vida es en Sus Manos by Kirk Franklin. I so love that song and I so love that it is on your Random 10.
And in the "who's got the cooler Random 10?" competition, I get beat by Padre Mickey one more Friday. Pretty much, if it's Friday, I take my whuppin' like a man.
Now, wait a minute, Matty Boy; yer Random Top Ten today is pretty cool:
Imagination (Is a Powerful Deceiver) Elvis Costello
Little Wing The Jimi Hendrix Experience
She’s An Angel They Might Be Giants
Could You Be Loved? Bob Marley & The Wailers
All Men Are Liars Nick Lowe
Black Is The Color Of My True Love’s Hair Nina Simone
Hanging On The Telephone Blondie
Take The Cash (K.A.S.H.) Wreckless Eric
Caravan Van Morrison
Night Train James Brown
First, ya gots the most obscure Elvis Costello song known to man; then you gets a mini-theme ting happenin' wid Little Wing followed by She's An Angel (pretty cool, one must admit). Ya gots Nina Simone NINA SIMONE, fer Crissakes, singing about Black-coloured hair FOLLOWED by a song by Blondie. Also, you gots Night Train and that always lifts any list to new heights.
So, I disagree with you regarding the lists THEY BOTH BE COOL! and they are much better than the stuff that shows up in TBogg's comments section.
I stand by each and every artist in the very strong Random 10 I put up today. But to put it in baseball terms, I have a fastball and a slider, and you have those pitches and the slow curve and the screwball and the knuckler and the change-up from hell^H^H^H^H heck. I just don't have the range. When I try to throw a little Wreckless Eric in to keep the folks surprised, you top me with Roogalator. AAAAAAAArgh!
As Edward G. Robinson said in The Cincinnati Kid, "You're good, kid, but as long as I'm around, you're second best. You'll just have to get used to it."
I'm used to it.
