Today at Parroquia San Cristóbal and the Diocese of Panamá

Busy busy day today. We had our mid-year Parish meeting this morning at Parroquia San Cristóbal. Lots of people avoid parish meetings, and then complain that the same 47 people make all the decisions, so today I was sneaky; I held the meeting right after my sermon. The meeting was more informational than anything else (no elections or stuff like that) and when the meeting was finished we continued with the Nicene Creed, the Oracion de los Fieles, the confession, etc. It worked quite well! And the parish made some good (IMHO) decisions.

Several weeks ago the refrigerator in the parish kitchen died and went to Refrigerator Heaven, where it is now all shiny and beautiful and only contains healthy foods and angelfood cake. However, we had no frig for a while. Friday, a member of the parish, Mr. Herber Bynoe, purchased the parish a brand new refrigerator!! Here's a photo of Padre y Mr. Bynoe (geez, I need a haircut; Mr. Bynoe is all suave and cool looking and I look like Ed Wynn!!)

The Trippies returned from Raices this afternoon. They had a great time. Here are some photos of the arrival.

THEN a group from the Frederick Regional Council of Episcopal Churches of the Diocese of Maryland arrived. They are here for a Medical Mission in the Interiór. Here they are having fun at Revda. Jane Surles' home.

Tomorrow I'll post some photos the kids brought home from Raices.

Thanks Padre and luv the new "frig" or "nivera" or whatever you call it over your way...blessings to the bearer of two door miracles (especially in the tropics).

Ed Wynn? Naw, but a little trim would be nifty!

"...And Padre Mickey laid his hand upon the new appliance, saying, 'O Lord, bless this Thy refrigerator, in Thy mercy, that with it Thou mayest keep Thy vegetables crispy and Thy cheese unmoldy and Thy angel-food cake moist and tasty, and Thy ice cubes unmelted, and Thy gin in a very, very icy condition, perfect for a martini when I come home after a hard day of parish meetings and non-functioning organs, and the Lovely Mona beckons with a frosty glass and a come-hither look, and I forget all about my worries, sipping the soothing, restorative potion, with just a hint of vermouth, not too much, mind you, and an olive--no, two, perhaps stuffed with garlic...'

And the Lord did grin and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats..."

It's a bit early but I believe Aghaveagh wins "comment of the week."

Oh MY GAAAWWWWDDD!!!! It is true what they say about TEC. There really are only 27 of us and the rest is done with smoke and mirrors.

That's MY diocese of Newark.

You must have met Tim Wong - the Missioner of Youth and Young Families at St. Paul's - MY church.

Isn't that simply amazing????

I spoke with Tim yesterday and he said they had a wonderful time.

Duh! I just didn't make the connection.

About your haircut: Remember one of Ed Wynn's most famous songs, from Mary Poppins:

I Love to Laugh!

I See You!
