Way Cool!

Remains of Human Ancestors Found

Meanwhile, in CrazyFundyWorldUSA, New World Creationists visit the Denver Museum to continue brainwashing "Christian" Home Schoolers.

And to make things even more fun, super-nutso New World Creationist Documentary makers EXPELLED P.Z. Myers from their film, but let Richard Dawkins in!!!

My best friend here in Panama is an Evolutionary Biologist with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute and a devout member of St. Simon's Episcopal Church in Gamboa, and even though he is somewhat more, well, actually quite more theologically conservative than I, there is no way he agrees with these people!

I taught my daughters that God created the world, but God used evolution to do it. To quote the Spudboys in Joko Homo: "God made man, But he used the monkey to do it. Apes in the plan were all here to prove it. I can walk like an ape, talk like an ape; I can do what a monkey can do. God made man, but a monkey supplied the glue!"

Christ is Risen! Allelulia! God gave you a brain and doesn't demand that you believe Iron Age Creation Myths, Alleluia, alleluia!

Holy crap! That is TOO FECKING FUNNY. I can't read Pharyngula or whatever PZ's blog is all the time, it just gets a bit much for me.

But I do respect his knowledge and he personally knows and is affiliated with other bloggers that I know.

This is fundy-rific Padre. Thanks!

PS- love what you taught the dres-babies, good teachin'!

I don't read Pharyngula like I used to, but this whole thing with Expelled is really funny. It's created quite a stir in the science/skeptical blogsphere.

That newly discovered hominid fossil is pretty cool.

I had to link to this Padre.

I have to say that those athiests are as crazy as the rest of us. I've never seen so much plotting about how to get it to the press in time to make it news worthy. Looks like folks reacting to the latest AC news on some of the more rabid 'orthodox' sites.
I laughed for a while and then couldn't read any more. They do go on............

As crazy as some of those Athiests sound at times, that video is infinately scarier. Even the theology they're spouting sounds suspect. Jesus designed creation?

Well of course he did, Tara! He is part of the Trinity....There is a wonderful description of the creation in a book "Third Peacock on the Left(or right, I can't remember which). It starts out, "God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost were having a party....." Much wine was consumed, tossing of grapes was involved, and I can't remember much after that, but it was a lovely image that I carry around in my heart.

Geez, susie sue, that's the kind of crazy talk my mother tried to use on me recently when I said that Jesus rarely talked about sex and said nothing about gays. She said, "Jesus is God and part of the Trinity so anything God said Jesus said." I told her that was a bit of a stretch and certainly wouldn't hold up in any theological debate.

Well, I wasn't being too serious! I was just leading up to the book. And in any case, I am not a theologian, so what do I know? No more that that guy in the video, I guess.

Gravity ... it's just a "world view."

susan s., I've known you way too long to think you were being serious!

Happy Fifty Days of Compelled Feasting to you and the choir and everyone at St. Mark's!

Oh, Padre, did your Mom quote "The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. We beheld the glory of the Father, full of grace and truth....."? That may not be the way it actually reads, but that's the way it is in a musical setting I know.
