I just read the following headline at the New York Times: Republicans Are Resistant To Obama's Stimulus Plan. Maybe some folks, folks who have lived in mountain caves awaiting the total deterioration of society due to the Y2K bug, people who didn't bring battery-powered radios with them into said caves because they were afraid that the Y2K bug would make the batteries explode or some other crazy idea, yeah, people who have no idea of what has been going on in political discourse in the United States of America since the days of the Reagan Administration, but most obviously over the past eight years, perhaps overwhelmed by the spirit of Kumbayah, yeah, THOSE PEOPLE, may be surprised by that headline, but for everyone else the proper reaction is: "duh!" OF COURSE the Republicans are "resistant to Obama's stimulus plan! That's what Republicans do, the resist any good idea. The last good idea the Republican party supported was the abolition of slavery. They've resisted everything else (yeah, yeah, that's a generalization, but I'm ranting, for cripe's sake!).
The Republicans are not going to support any policy which actually helps real people. As evidenced over the past eight years, they only support policies which redistribute wealth to those at the top of the socio-economic heap. 70 billion dollars in a bailout to Wall Street types whose unregulated greed helped put us in the mess we're in, but not one red cent to auto manufacturers to save jobs. Tax cuts for the top ten percent but nothing for working-class and middle-class families. They have spent the past eight years (aided by wimpy scaredy-cat Democrats) handing Dubya everything he ever wanted and more, but are Resistant to Obama's Stimulus Plan. And, what's worse, they want MORE TAX CUTS FOR THE FREAKIN' RICOS!!
Like the folks who post over at Those Anglican-so-called websites, the Republican party is oblivious to the fact that their opinions are no longer relevant and that they are being left behind. Sure, one can find exclusionary verses in the Bible with which to bash those with whom one opposes over the head, but, the facts are that everything is moving towards inclusion. And while one may want to believe that the Republican economic and social policies of the past thirty years will work, the fact is that they have failed miserably and only Less Intelligent and Unaware people like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, and the Loser McCain will support them against all the evidence. Insanity has been described as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. To continue to support Republican free-market economic policies and their friggin' tax cuts for the wealthy is, well, insane!
Here Endeth the Rant
Thanks be to God!

Yes!
I saw one of the R's complaining that most of the people in the tax bracket whose taxes President Obama wants to increase are small business people, and Obama gonna run them outta business. Oh, really. If they can make that much money, they must be doing fine. They can afford to pay a little more. Or pay their employees a living wage.
Obama's got a stimulus plan?
Does it work and would he care to share it with the rest of us men?
